Working with PG&E, nearly 800 streetlights in the LS1 program were converted to LED fixtures at no cost to the City. The PG&E Streetlight Replacement Program was part of an energy savings program approved by the Public Utilities Commission. This project is expected to produce annual energy savings valued at approximately $13,400.

The City took advantage on on bill financing to convert 260 additional streetlights to LED. This project is expected to produce annual energy savings valued at approximately $21,000. This is more saving per fixture due to fixture size and the billing rate structure.

- Public Works Storage Building
Due to the construction of
improvements at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, the storage capacity of
the Public Works Corporation Yard will be significantly reduced. The
metal building located in the current space will be demolished,
requiring a new one to be built at an offsite location. Plans include
installing a new metal building at the former County Animal Control
site which is owned by the former Redevelopment Agency. The building was
bid in November and the cost is $148,195. It will be funded from the
Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade Project (50% from Pinole and 50%
from Hercules)
