Pinole's Pavement Maintenance and Rehabilitation Program

Pavement Maintenance and Rehabilitation Program

The City of Pinole is responsible for the repair and maintenance of approximately 52.22 centerline miles of streets, which are defined as 351 pavement sections. The City uses StreetSaver, a pavement management software to assist in making cost effective decisions concerning the maintenance, rehabilitation, and reconstruction of City maintained pavement. Street Saver allows the city to monitor pavement conditions, and prioritizes streets which require resurfacing, and estimates the cost of treatments and rehabilitation.

The City allocates $500,000 annually for road maintenance projects and also uses Road Repair and Accountability Act (SB1) funding to maintain the pavement network. The goal of the Pavement Maintenance and Rehabilitation Program is to maintain the pavement network in the best condition possible with the available funding. Preventative maintenance is performed to extend the life of the pavement and avoid more costly repair or replacement of streets.
