Message From The Fire Chief

On behalf of all of us at your Pinole Fire Department and the City of Pinole, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website.
Please take a few minutes to make yourself familiar with its contents.

The Pinole Fire Department has a long tradition of service and commitment to the community, and is dedicated to our mission of
“Providing safety and welfare to the public through preservation of life, property, and the environment”.
This commitment extends to
all persons living in, and visiting, the City of Pinole, Tara Hills, and surrounding coverage areas.

As Fire Chief, I am proud to represent such a focused and determined group of individuals who, together, form an organization dedicated to compassionate and caring service to our great community. I will dedicate my efforts to maintaining and constantly improving upon the service we provide to our citizens.

We are here to serve, day or night, under all conditions, in keeping with our core values
Duty, Respect, and Integrity”.
Please contact our main office should you have any questions. We are here for you!

Today, the Department has 10 Firefighters working
at Station 73 on 3 different shifts, A, B & C.
This results in a minimum of 3 firefighters on-duty each day in the city.
We have one Battalion Chief at Station 74 on B shift. Two civilian positions bring the total staff of PFD to 12 employees.
The two civilian positions are a Management Analyst and a contract Fire Services Inspector.
The staff of the Pinole Fire Department takes great pride in delivering a wide variety of services to residents and visitors of Pinole.

The Pinole Fire Department Administration and Station 73 share the Public Safety Building with the Police Department.
Tours of the facility are given by appointment via the Police Department.

Pinole is part of the Battalion 7 Agreement, which combines Rodeo-Hercules Fire District, San Pablo and El Sobrante under Contra Costa Fire Protection District, and City of Pinole Fire Department into one Battalion in West Contra Costa County, to cover command and control functions.

In Service,
Chris Wynkoop
